At Federal Management
Systems, Inc., our financial management professionals
perform a broad range of accounting, auditing, tax, and
consulting activities. We believe that in any
organization, these functions must be integrated with executive
teams to assist and inform strategic planning, budget analysis,
product development, and business enterprise management. Our
financial management professionals are prepared to help your
organization achieve any of these goals. At FMS, all our
accounting professionals are holistically focused and eager to
meet your organization’s accounting needs. Our skilled
accounting personnel bring expertise from varied professional
backgrounds; their experience levels range from CPAs and
internal and external auditors to junior accountants and
bookkeepers. Our FMS financial and accounting
professionals provide our customers with timely, high quality
service in areas such as:
Current Projects
Department of Health and Human Services,
National Institutes of Health
At the National Institutes of
Health (NIH), FMS provides accounting expertise for the
Travel/Consultant Reimbursement Branch at the Center for
Scientific Review (CSR), where our professional staff prepare
and submit NIH OFM reports, process and approve NIH's
consultant reimbursement payments, and approve payment of
ticket purchase statements from authorized NIH travel
agencies.
Immigration &
Naturalization Service (Department of Homeland Security)
At the Department of Homeland Security, FMS
accounting and finance specialists perform budget and finance
procedure reviews and make recommendations on indirect costs
and reimbursable fees for several accounts. We currently
provide accounting and financial management training at DHS
and assist with audit compilation of financial statements and
internal control policies and procedures. Our accountants
perform data processing, journal entries, and general ledger
updates; they also perform monthly reconciliations of accounts
payable and receivable. They process and monitor Imprest funds
and foreign transactions from INS Financial Service Centers (FSC),
as well as provide daily and monthly analysis reports for
vendor payment. In addition, FMS accountants at DHS reconcile
obligation accounts and make error corrections in order to
update INS Financial Management Systems, reconcile INS
transactions with the Department of Treasury, and clear
transactions backlogs.
U.S. Department of
Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service
At the Food Safety and Inspection Service, FMS is
currently reviewing the actual performance of various state
agencies’ indirect cost rates in order to make recommendations
for the upcoming fiscal year. Our team of accountants is also
reviewing the methodology and procedures used to calculate
reimbursable fees for programs for which FSIS pays or collects
fees for services. Using audit reports and working papers, we
are analyzing direct and indirect charges made under the FSIS
program to provide funds to state and local entities in
association with the performance of federally supported
projects and programs.
